SANTA FE – The campaign for Katharine Clark running for Santa Fe County Clerk announced several endorsements today. Among them, labor and several elected officials.

The Northern New Mexico Central Labor Council unanimously endorsed Katharine for Clerk followed by Plumbers and Pipefitters 412, one of the larger unions in New Mexico. Of her endorsements, Katharine has said, “As a proud 6th generation union member, and former UPTE-CWA member and union representative, I am proud to stand with labor. I have been active in the Democratic party and involved in the labor movement for some time and I am thrilled to have their endorsement.”

The campaign also announced several critical endorsements including State Treasurer Tim Eichenberg who has personally worked with Katharine and County Commissioner Anna Hamilton who is scheduled to host a meet and greet for Katharine in the next few weeks. Of Katharine Treasurer Eichenberg has said, “I’ve worked with Katharine. Her organizational no how and ability to mobilize teams to work together effectively are vital skills needed in the Santa Fe County Clerk’s office.”

Katharine already has the public support of Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver who headlined her campaign kick-off event, and Santa Fe City Councilor Renee Villarreal with whom Katharine has worked closely. Of Katharine, the Secretary of State has said “Katharine Clark has a proven history of advocacy and leading diverse teams. She has a technical and policy background needed in every clerk’s office. I am confident she will ensure the ballot is accessible to everyone and that the clerk’s office is equitable and transparent.” Renee Villarreal stated “I’m in Katharine’s Corner. From working with her, I know that she’s committed to making sure that everyone – including those in our community who are underserved – have a seat at the table.”
